Abstract: The article focuses on the feed business of a family-run dairy in Lanarkshire, Scotland. The business, which is run by brothers Geoff and Mark Hewitt, sells feeds to 90% of its dairy suppliers that give them added traceability. Their feed processing is entirely automated and they do not use cheap fillers, such as palm kernel, in feed blends.
