Interpreting Published Environmental Guidelines for Preservation in Libraries.

The article reports on the guidelines for the preservation of paper records and collections in libraries such as the University of Colorado's Norlin Library. The "Environmental Guidelines for the Storage of Paper Records," has been considered as the authoritative standard for the preservation of library collections. However, the contents of the guidelines do not necessarily fit older library facilities eventhough these facilities try its best to achieve the conditions. In the case of the Norlin Library, its heating and ventilation industry (HVAC) was adjusted to achieve the relative humidity and temperature.
