Abstract

The article focuses on the emissions trading programs. Emission trading is a regulatory approach to control emissions by providing economic incentives to attain reductions. These programs have been implemented worldwide to achieve clean air goals while providing industry with the best economic decisions. In addition, these programs determine the clean air goal, establish an emission cap for a given area or industry to achieve the clean air goal and allow each member of the regulatory community to decide the most economical way to meet their collective obligations.
