Russia sees rise in hate crimes.

Abstract: The article previews an international workshop that will tackle hate crimes against students and immigrants in Russia to be held in Saint Petersburg from February 16 to 18, 2007. The event will discuss research into the rise of neofascism, intolerance and racism across Russia. Some academics who are expected to give papers at the workshop are from Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Germany. A photography exhibition related to the results of racism in the country will also be showcased at the event.
