Abstract
- This article describes some of the new and upcoming safety innovations for automobiles. Electronic stability control, a system that applies the brakes automatically when a car starts to slide, is the most important, and in 2012 all new vehicles will be required to have it. Many of the new features are designed to avoid accidents rather than merely survive them.
