Abstract
- The article reports on the awarding of two potentially large infrared countermeasures contracts to BAE Systems and Northrop Grumman by the U.S. Department of Defense. The awarding of the defense contracts was prompted by the expectation that the Global War on Terrorism will continue to put military aircraft at increased risk from man-portable air defense systems. The defense contracts cover BAE Systems Electronics and Integrated Solutions' AAR-57 Common Missile Warning System.
