Abstract
- The article presents information about environmental issues related to the U.S. motion picture industry. A November 2006 report by the Institute of Environment of the University of California in Los Angeles, California, found that film and television production in the Los Angeles metropolitan area creates more air pollution annually than the region's hotel, apparel, or the aerospace industry. However, it is reported that the industry uses recycled products as well. Sundance Channel, founded by actor Robert Redford will debut a weekly three-hour block of ecofriendly television in April 2007. The television program titled "The Green" will include a series profiling leading activists, innovators, feature-length documentaries, and lifestyle shows.
