Abstract
- The article presents a study on integrating technology in rural high school writing centers in Texas. It aims to help students explore higher level thinking skills and technological literacies by viewing writing in more situated, audience-driven ways. Peer tutors were trained in writing centers with a digital camera, the MovieMaker software and an electronic newsletter and conducted writing center practices with groups from technical writing courses. Pre- and postsurveys and interviews were collected. Results showed that students learned to make decisions and collectively resolve conflict while team members learned how to negotiate different opinions to address audience needs.
