DRUG STUDY.

The article reports on the findings of the study conducted by Cleveland Clinic researchers regarding the ability of the drug torcetrapib from Pfizer Inc. to slow down plaque buildup in the coronary arteries. It was found that the drug does not slow arterial plaque buildup despite increasing the levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol by 60 percent. Pfizer already ceased the development of the drug after the safety board revealed that the drug increased the risk of patient death.
