Abstract
- The article reports that Yury Baluyevsky, the chief of the Armed Forces General Staff and the first deputy defense minister of the Russian Federation, had his term extended by President Vladimir Putin until 2010. Baluyevsky's term extension is a first and has become an unprecedented political phenomenon in Russia.
