Putting a thin lid on evaporation losses.

The article provides information on a research project conducted by CRC for Irrigation Futures regarding the efficiency and the environmental impact of monolayers used as evaporation loss prevention in commercial dams. It will assess the performance of a wide range of different monomolecular film products including the cetyl alcohol/lime-based Water$avr and the silicon-based Aquatain. Furthermore, the project will lead the improvement plans for technologies and systems for evaluating evaporation and seepage losses from water reservoirs.
