Abstract: The article focuses on the shootings at Virginia Teach in Blacksburg, Virginia in April 2007, and the shooter Cho Seung-Hui. A videotaped manifesto that Cho sent to NBC news in New York is mentioned. Cho's background is described; his parents were Korean immigrants. Classmates and others who knew Cho describe him as a loner and "affectless." His writings included violent themes. He had been stalking two female students, and received an order from the court for psychiatric treatment.
