High-Risk Patients with Ventricular Preexcitation — A Pendulum in Motion.

The author discusses patients with ventricular preexcitation syndrome. Preexcitation syndromes have intrigued physicians partly because of the bizarre electrocardiographic abnormalities associated with these syndromes. Continued fascination with the Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome rests on two findings: the atrioventricular reciprocating tachycardia and the occurrence of sudden death from ventricular fibrillation in young, previously asymptomatic persons.
