Abstract

The innate immune system not only participates in host defence but also contributes to the control of adaptive immune responses. Complement and Toll-like receptors (TLR) are key components of innate immunity. Emerging evidence suggests their activation is involved in all major aspects of transplantation. This paper reviews the current understanding of how the complement and TLR on impact transplant injury. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
