Abstract

This article offers the patient education page which discusses lymphoma. It offers an overview of the lymphatic system and how it works. An explanation of lymphoma tells of lymphocytes that become malignant and crowd out normal cells. Lymphomas are classified as either Hodgkin disease or non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The abnormal cells in the two forms are different. The symptoms of the disease are listed including unexplained fever, night sweats, constant fatigue and unexplained weight loss. Risk factors are outlined including the fact that men are more likely than women to develop the non-Hodgkin variety.
