Abstract

The article reports on the installation of the last magnet for the world's new highest-energy particle smasher, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), in Geneva, Switzerland. The collider is capable of smashing protons into protons at unprecedented energies. The LHC could also produce particles of dark matter.
