Abstract
- The article discusses various management strategies at the plants of specialty chemicals company Degussa in North America in 2007. Plant managers at the company's biggest U.S. facilities in Mobile and Greensboro in Alabama are concerned about keeping the facilities relevant amidst the decline in the manufacturing infrastructure, maintaining good relations with the community and complying to environmental regulations.
