Abstract

The article reports on the effects of drought on farms in Australia. According to the agricultural forecaster, ABARE, crop production will fall by almost 60% to 1.9 million metric tons for the season due to the drought in southern Queensland, northern New South Wales and Riverina. Low rainfall led to the depletion of soil moisture. Milk production is also affected since limited water availability hinders farmers to sustain herds and milk yields.
