Abstract

The article reports that legislative discussions are ongoing to improve the international higher education program in the U.S. Very few American students choose to study abroad because they fear not meeting their U.S. school's graduation requirements. U.S. representatives and senators would also like to see low income, minority and community college students' participation in the program. Foreign study is recognized as a beneficial learning experience and foreign interns into the U.S. are encouraged as well.
