Abstract
- The article reports on the closure of the West Brook Middle School in Paramus, New Jersey, where contaminated soil was found in December 2006. On May 29, 2007, Mayor James J. Tedesco III took the decision to close down the school after students and parents protested over the issue. He also ordered to remove two truckloads of the soil contaminated with old, banned pesticides. The protesters were angry over the fact that the contaminated soil was not removed when it was found.
