Abstract

The article focuses on the efficacy of luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) analogues and hormone ablation in treating prostate cancer. It discusses the oncological and gynecological utilization of LHRH agonists. The triptorelin, a LHRH agonist, provides and effective palliative for prostate cancer. It also discusses the use of cytotoxic analogues of LHRH, somatostatin and bombesin that can be targeted to prostate cancer tumors in the improvement of the treatment.
