Abstract: The article profiles Steve Dixon, the head of the school of arts at Brunel University in England. Dixon graduated from the drama department of Manchester University in 1977. His first job was a professional pantomime in Wigan. He was awarded a £2.5 million grant for a film production and training projects using the long-term unemployed as actors in 1986.
