Abstract

The article discusses events related to U.S. politics. In a television address, U.S. President Richard M. Nixon claimed the deployment of U.S. troops in Cambodia will allow the withdrawal of some troops from Vietnam. Members of teachers' unions in New York and New Jersey were sentenced to jail for participation in strikes. Marvin Mandel, governor of Maryland, vetoed legislation to remove restrictions on abortion.
