Abstract

The article discusses events related to U.S. politics. U.S. President Richard M. Nixon stated that two of the subpoenaed tapes containing recordings of White House conversations do not exist. The author suggests the Watergate scandal influenced the election of New Jersey Governor Brendan Byrne. A plan to restrict state expenditures proposed by California governor Ronald Reagan was rejected by voters.
