Abstract

The article discusses the results of a study on the tribes of Onagraceae and on the existing phylogenetic relationships among them. The tribes were studied using the PgiC sequences, a nuclear gene encoding cytosolic phosphoglucose isomerase. Results show that PgiC has a greater rate of divergence as compared to the chloroplast genes.
