Abstract
- The article describes a legal battle over digital media security between the DVD Copy Control Association (DVD CCA) and startup Kaleidescape Inc. DVD CCA is responsible for the security of motion pictures on DVDs through its Content Scramble System (CSS). Kaleidescape is a manufacturer of hard-disk-drive-based media servers. DVD CCA has filed a civil action against Kaleidescape on an allegation of breach of license.
