Abstract

The article reports on the plan of Microsoft Corp. to open a software development center in Vancouver, British Columbia. It is stated that the company will recruit and retain highly skilled people affected by immigration issues in the U.S. for its new center. Evan Green, a partner at Toronto-based law firm, claimed that the Canadian government are moving quickly to bring unlimited high-tech workers with certain skills into the country. Moreover, the needs of foreign skilled workers in Canada was due to the increased of high-tech jobs, wherein its graduates are not enough to fill in the country's employment demand.
