Abstract

The article reports on the security update of 11 gigabit database of Oracle Corp. which lacks support for grid technology in the U.S. Senior database administrator Ed Mulheren of Wachovia Corp. believes that the additional features will help the company meets regulatory demands as well as line up with its desktop security policies. Oracle claims that the updates will include advanced automation, self-management tools, data partitioning, compression capabilities and improvements in XML performance. Linux version of the database will be shipped in August 2007, however, price was not disclosed.
