Abstract

The article describes a study which examined the prevalence of and risk factors for pubic lipoma (PL) in patients with HIV infection in Italy. Of 582 patients with lipodystrophy, 9.4% have PL. PL was more common among obese than nonobese patients. PL is a recognized manifestation of HIV-associated lipoaccumulation that is more likely to occure among individuals with coexisting dorsocervical fat pads.
