On not mimicking the religious right

Abstract: The article discusses the relation between Christian faith and public office, particularly concerning the 2008 U.S. presidential elections. The publicity and focus of personal faith by various presidential candidates, such as Barack Obama and John Edwards, is highlighted. The author warns against the popular associations of Christianity with right wing conservatism, and stresses the importance of separation of Church and State.
