Abstract
- The article reflects the opinion of the author on the indirect occurrence of organism's mutability, an alteration in the inherited nucleic acid sequence of an organism. The author cited various theories in mutation such as an increased mutation rate based on female choice. He also said that mutator alleles can also be favored by strong selection for phenotypic variation, such as that imposed by immunological attack against pathogens, along with stable linkage to beneficial mutations.
