Abstract

The article reports that heavy rains had severely affected farmers for the past 10 days in England. NFU county chairman of Shropshire Adrian Joyce said that there were 20-30 acre fields of wheat under water. Spokesman for NFU Mutual Tim Price stated that the insurance company was dealing with hundreds of claims resulting from flash floods in Worcestershire, Shropshire, Warwickshire, Yorkshire and Humberside. Lincoldnshire-based Farmer Focus writer Mark Ireland said that the majority of wheat fields in north had parts which were lodged.
