- The article reports on the challenges facing Canadian chemical manufacturers and distributors in 2006, including several rail strikes, flooding in British Columbia, and tougher environmental and transportation regulations. Several specialty chemical end-markets have been hit especially hard in the last few years including the automotive, pulp and paper, pharma, and water treatment industries, chemical companies say.
