Abstract

The article discusses that proving that slain 18-year-old Donnell MacFarland was a gang leader may be a key in the case brought against 32 youth arrested in Bushwick, New York City. It states that the sophomore at Bushwick Community High School was arrested with over 30 others on May 21, 2007 en route to McFarland's wake. Police officers said the youth, who wore t-shirts emblazoned with McFarland's picture, posed a gang threat.
