Abstract: This article reports on the background of suspect Joshua Komisarjevsky who is charged with killing a physician's family during a home invasion in Cheshire, Connecticut. Komisarjevsky came from an illustrious family of achievers but privilege did not prevent the crime. Komisarjevsky and accomplice Stephen J. Hayes are charged with 13 felony counts in the brutal crime which killed the wife and two children of Dr. William Petit Jr. The state has not decided whether or not to seek the death penalty in the case.
