Abstract
- This article reports on how some families in New Jersey are holding children's birthday parties with no gifts. In lieu of gifts, invitations suggest a donation of money or specified items to a charity of the child's choice. The article cites examples of donations that various people have made to charities instead of gifts. Fundraiser Davida Isaacson says there is a growing trend to involve young children in no-gift parties to teach them the value of philanthropy.
