Abstract
- The author reflects on the study which examines the effects of ibuprofen on serum electrolyte concentrations after an ultradistance running race. He refers the findings of the study to the previous studies which shows that the more an athlete weighs at end of an event with his/her weight at the start, the lower is the [Na+]p. He rejected the study's conclusion which states that weight gain does not put an individual at risk for hyponatremia.
