Abstract
- This article presents information about how a new Connecticut state law might help to save a youth prison that opened in 2001 and was built under Governor John G. Rowland's administration. The prison needs extensive repairs to remain functional and it will receive a $40 million cash infusion because of the change in the law which governs the age at which criminal suspects are charged as adults. Increasing the age to 18 will increase the number of youths staying at the prison.
