Abstract
- We present the preliminary results of the study on SN 2005ay, a Type II Plateau supernova observed in a wide wavelength range, which spans from the UltraViolet to the Near-Infrared bands. SN 2005ay shows the typical photometric and spectroscopic evolution of a normal Type II-P SN. This is confirmed by the physical parameters obtained through the comparison of three observables (V light curve, photospheric expansion velocity and continuum temperature) with semianalytical models. For its extended wavelength coverage and its detailed time sampling, SN 2005ay will represent an excellent reference template for this type of supernovae. © 2007 American Institute of Physics [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
