Abstract

The article presents a study that investigates parallel programs and the Chapel language. Here, the researchers consider productivity challenges for parallel programmers and explore ways which parallel language design might help improve end-user productivity. Furthermore, they also surveyed techniques for parallel programming and describe ways in which they consider them to fall short of their idealized productive programming model. Details on the Chapel's features and how they help address parallel productivity are also discussed in the study.
