$10,000 Prizes Offered for ASOR Papers.

The article reports that the Biblical Archaeology Society (BAS) will be awarding two $10,000 prizes for the best academic papers presented at the 2007 Annual Meeting of the American Schools of Oriental Research (ASOR). The John Mancini Prize will recognize a paper on archaeology of the early Christian and Patristic period and the Hershel Shanks Prize will recognize archaeological scholarship of the Late Antique Judaism and Talmudic period.
