Abstract

The article reports that the drug Permax will be withdrawn from the Chinese market due to a risk of heart damage. The Chinese Food and Drug Administration has ordered the suspension of the production, sale and use of Permax in China. The agency based its decision on two studies published in the "New England Journal of Medicine" in 2007 on the link between Permax and valvular heart disease.
