Abstract

The author reflects on actinic keratosis (AKs). He discusses that AK are skin neoplasms and considered to be one of the most common cutaneous intraepithelial neoplastic disorders presenting chromosomal abnormalities. He added that AK are in situ intradermal squamous cell carcinomas which can develop into invasive squamous cell carcinoma. Furthermore, the author suggested that the patient should be monitored closely from AK to avoid invasive squamous cell carcinoma.
