Abstract
- The author exposes the condition of inmates who experienced horrors of the medical system, by which they claimed for a healthcare rights in prisons in California. She cites the case of an inmate who was convicted for felony crime and was sentenced from seven year-to-life sentenced. In 2001, a Plata case was filed by the advocacy Prison Law Office to expose the medical negligence in California prisons to undergo public scrutiny and its failure of prison healthcare system.
