Abstract

This article examines the controversy around Apple Inc. and leader Steve Jobs' decision to cut the price of the iPhone by $200 shortly after introducing the product. People who stood in lines for hours and paid more just weeks earlier were alienated by the decision and the outcry was great enough for Jobs to have to offer refunds to those who paid the initial full price. Wall Street reacted and Apple's stock decreased in value.
