Abstract

The article presents news briefs related to wildlife conservation in North America. The North-western Hawaiian Islands, a marine reserve, is at risk due to floating rubbish dumps. Of 300 freshwater mussel species that are native to North America 70% are threatened, declining or extinct. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has not listed cerulean warbler among the threatened species, which has raised concern for the specie among the U.S. conservation organizations.
