ADDING A CONTROL PLANE TO PBT.

The article examines the benefits and disadvantages of provider backbone transport (PBT) as a simpler alternative to multiprotocol label switching (MPLS). Providers of PBT guarantee that it is simple to use compared to MPLS. However, MPLS equipment vendors point out that part of the reason PBT is so simple because it could be provisioned manually. Moreover, carriers of PBT would need a control plane to provision those PBT pathways.
