Abstract

The article offers information on recycled aluminum products published in the issue of "Aluminum Now." The journal reports that recycling aluminum requires 95 percent less energy than producing aluminum from bauxite. On the other hand, recycling steel requires 60 percent less energy than producing steel from iron ore. In addition, recycling paper requires 40 percent less energy than producing paper from lumber. It further emphasizes that because recycling aluminum requires much less energy, it produces less emissions and saves money.
