Abstract

The article discusses the strengths and weaknesses of both the traditional and the innovative approach models of student affairs practices. According to Kathleen Manning, a professor of higher education at the University of Vermont, the models of student affairs practice should depend on the institution's mission and population. Moreover, after she identified and classified the models during her research on the campuses for her project, the Documenting Effective Educational Practices (DEEP), she stated that these models are unique, they have their own advantages and drawbacks.
