Abstract: The article discusses criticism and legal trouble for Blackwater USA, a private military company operating in Iraq. Blackwater is being criticized for its aggressive tactics and lack of concern for civilian casualties. On September 16, 2007, according to Iraqi officials, a Blackwater convoy opened fire in a Baghdad crossroads and killed 17 bystanders. The Iraq government wants Blackwater operatives removed from the country. The company has received over $1 billion in U.S. government contracts.
